Gas fires offer a range of benefits over burning wood/smokeless fuel in your home, including the ability to instantly control and/or turn off the heat in your room completely. They are a very convenient heat source, with the conventional flue inset fires providing heat outputs of up to 6kW which is roughly three times as much as electric fires.
